No experience with Trend but general practices of version upgrade of
Domino would be to checdk if you need to re-install add-on applications.
You might want to you might want to re-install Trend Micro if places more
than a nfs on the system.

How often is it crashing? What is it doing when it crashes?
Are you collecting debug info? If not, start doing that. I'm pretty
versed with looking at scanmail debug logs and would be willing to look at
those if you'd like.

I recently upgraded from 6.5.4 to 6.5.5. There were some undocumented
changes that IBM implemented in the server executables.
I'm not sure how you start and stop domino, but there are problems with
calling server -q to stop domino. They want us using the server -c "quit"
command.

We weren't and it was wreaking holy havoc on domino. Also, make sure that
Trend Micro supports domino 7.0.1 FP1. It would not surprise me, if they
didn't yet.

I recommend opening a case with Trend. They won't do much for you until
you have debug logs, but they'll tend to your issues once you get
debugging turned on.
Lastly, before you do anything, copy your configuration database (and any
other database you need to save). Shut domino down and do a clean install
of scanmail. Once
scanmail is re-installed, before you start domino back up, copy your
copied config database back into your notesdata directory. This fixed my
crashing issues when we upgraded 6.5.4 to 6.5.5.

Trend's knowledge base also has a few entries that talk about crashing
when you upgrade domino to a new release. It is good practice to add a
scanmail re-install to your domino upgrade procedures.

I have a lot of experience working with scanmail for domino on SLES. Let
me know if I can be of any more help.

At the moment Lotus Domino 7 is not supported on Linux Intel platform for
ScanMail 3.0 for Domino!
When will ScanMail for Domino (SMD) 3.0 support Lotus Domino 7?
http://esupport.trendmicro.com/support/viewxml.do?ContentID=en-126145

*****
I am running ScanMail 3.0 on Lotus Domino 7 for a long time now.
I am using Suse 9.1 Pro and Lotus Domino 7.0.1 and FP1!
*****

Here is my procedure to install ScanMail 3.0 for Domino:
- make a backup of directory smd (/local/notesdata); most important dabase
are: smconf.nsf, smvlog.nsf, smency.nsf. smquar.nsf, smftypes.nsf because
these databases are replica copies if you have installed ScanMail on more
then 1 server!
- shutdown the Domino server
- uninstall ScanMail (/opt/trend/SMD/Uninstall/SMD3UninstallerLinux.bin
-console) If you can't uninstall using the uninstaller then you have to do
it manually!
- install the initial ScanMail build smd30-linux-b1566
- make a backup of smd directory (initial installation)
- restore the five important scanmail databases
- start the domino server
- install ScanMail for Lotus Domino for Linux 3.0 Service Pack 2 while
domino server is running!!
- just wait with the following update until the design update of scanmail
databases is completed!!
- install ScanMail for Lotus Domino for Linux 3.0, SP2 patch 1 - build
3486 while domino is running!!
- if necessary run server console command: load smdupd and/or tell smdreal
reload

Success!
