Notes clients in Linux?

Hi,

I have heard a rumour about the possibility of running the Notes client
in Linux via Eclipse (as plugin?). Is this true, and does anyone knows
where to find more about it?
It's just that I hate to have to start Windows for the sole purpose of
running Notes.

Best wishes for 2006!

The Hanover client is based on Eclipse and runs on any platform that
supports eclipse.
It's part of the Lotus Workspace product line and is in development to
fully support Notes as a Client (no developement)

I use crossover office & vmware currently to support notes development.

As soon as Notes development & dreamweaver are supported on Linux I can
close all the Windows.

I think this is the link you are looking for.

http://www-142.ibm.com/software/sw-lotus/products/product4.nsf/wdocs/hannoverfaq
specifically:
*Q.** Will pre-existing Lotus Notes applications run in the "Hannover"
client?*
*A.* Yes. Native Lotus Notes applications (including e-mail) will run in the
"Hannover" client without any modification. You will also be able to extend
these applications within the Eclipse framework.
